The tide was low enough to walk down to the old boat salvage yard at Picnic Point Beach (near Mukilteo, Lynnwood, and Edmonds) however when we turned around the head back the water had already risen enough we had to climb over the barnacle crusted rocks along the break water to get home! It was a very slippery & crazy adventure!
We couldn't get too close due to all of the "No Trespassing" signs, but after some research I've learned that this private property is now home to the remains of 27 boats (I could only clearly see two maybe three of them). Apparently, the original ower would salvage the metal and anything else he could and the hull would stay on the beach. The one hull that is still somewhat intact was called the Pacific Queen and was brought there in 1929.
We only had the 50mm lens with us, but from the distance we could tell something was perched upon the ship, when we zoomed in on the photo to our surprise were two bald eagles!
There is something so captivating & peaceful about boats... I frequently find myself drawn to photographing them.
